Lessons

We have been asked by a number of participants for material based on levels, i.e. beginner, intermediate, advanced. We have decided to create a series of lessons. Each lesson has new vocabulary (sent to members via email), an explanation of a grammar point, an interactive grammar practice exercise, as well as reading and writing practice. Members' grammar practice exercises and the writing practice will be corrected by one of our teachers.

The lessons will be organized from a beginner level to more advanced and we will add lessons on a regular basis. You may choose to work through the lessons by starting with Lesson One, then doing Lesson Two, etc. However, you do not have to do all of the lessons in order from beginning to end. Students always have different areas that they need to focus on, Please choose the lessons that you think will help you the most or follow the instructions of your teacher.

Before beginning, I would suggest reviewing the vocabulary that you will need to start with the lessons. These are words that come up in the instructions, explanations, etc. Please click on the following links to see a vocabulary map or download vocabulary cards.

  • Starting Lessons Vocabulary Map
  • Starting Lessons Vocabulary Cards (These cards are available as RTF files. Click on the link and the file will download to your computer. You can open the file in Word or another word processing program.)
  • I would recommend using the lessons in this way:
    • Choose a lesson.
    • Order the vocabulary material via email.
    • Study the vocabulary (it should arrive within 24 hours of your ordering it).
    • Read the grammar explanation.
    • Do the grammar practice exercise and send it to us for correction and feedback.
    • Follow any instructions you receive via our emailed corrections. This may include reviewing the grammar explanation, doing more grammar practice exercises, etc.
    • Review the vocabulary.
    • Read the example text and send us your writing sample for our comments and correction.
    • Read our teacher's comments on your writing sample.
    • Continue with the next lesson or choose another lesson to work on.
