Prepositions (page 4)

Travel - to, in, at, into, by, on, up, down

go/ come / travel (etc.) to a place or event
Go to Europe.
Come to the U.S.
Travel to Asia.
Fly to Africa.
get to ... What time did you get to work?
arrive in / at
What time did you arrive in the office?
When did you arrive at work?
No prepositions with: go home, come home, get home When did you get home last night?
Go into or come into means to enter (a room, building, etc.) Come into the house.
Use by to say how you travel
by plane by car
by air by train
by bus by boat
If you use an article or pronoun, by doesn't work
in the train in my car
in a taxi on her bicycle
on foot Did she come by bicycle or on foot?
up & down You have to travel up the mountain before you can ski down it.
