An
exercise on the Second Conditional
created by Lynnea Mahlke with JCloze
This exercise helps you practice making Second Conditional
sentences. These are the "if" sentences which are possible, but not probable or
likely to happen. If you would like to review them first, please go to the grammar
explanation section.
Your task is to put the word or words in the right tense for each sentence.
For example:
Use the words: fly & go
If I ______ to Europe this afternoon I ________ to Oslo.
Answer: If I flew to Europe this afternoon I would go to Oslo.
* "If I would fly to Europe this afternoon I would go to Oslo." is also possible
(it is more American English than British), but will not be accepted for this
exercise.
