We often use the verb to be in introductions. Here are some examples of typical introductions:

  • "Good morning, my name is Jamie Roberts. How do you do?"
  • "How do you do Mr. Roberts. I am Larry Thomson. It is a pleasure to meet you."
  • "It's a pleasure to meet you, too."

  • "Hello, I'm Ahmed Mustafa."
  • "I'm Carlos Demarco. Pleased to meet you, Mr. Mustafa."
  • "Pleased to meet you, too. Please call me Ahmed."
  • "Thank you Ahmed. Please call me Carlos."

  • "Hi, I'm Ingrid. It's nice to meet you."
  • "Hi Ingrid, I'm Taichi. It's nice to meet you, too. Are you from Sweden?"
  • "No, I'm not. I'm from Germany. Where are you from?"
  • "I'm from Japan."
