Reading and Writing |
In English we often
use pronouns when introducing other people. We say someone is "our
friend", "a colleague of mine", "his boss", etc.
Here are some examples of introductions of other people:
- "Nancy,
I would like you to meet Harry Jennings. Harry is a colleague
of mine. Harry, this is Nancy Smith, my assistant."
- "It's
nice to meet you Harry."
- "It's
nice to meet you too."

a pleasure to meet you, too. Please call me Jane."
- "Thank
you. Please call me Alan."

this is Beth, my colleague from work."
