Lesson Six Reading and Writing

The verb can is used to describe things that you are able to do. In work situations it is often used when talking about tasks or abilities that you need for your job. Pay attention to the use of the verb can when you read the following examples of tasks at work and write one of your own.

Juan is a teacher. He has got many different tasks at work. He can explain things to students. He can work with a computer and create lesson plans. He can also lead classroom discussions.

Sarah is a marketing director. Her tasks are different from Juan's. She can lead a team. She can create marketing material. She can delegate tasks. She can also write budget proposals.
